We are excited to share these lines with you to communicate changes in the top management of Katcon.
After a well thought process devoted to prepare a smooth transition, Katcon’s Board of Directors has decided to proceed with the succession in the role of President and CEO.
Mr. Fernando Turner D., who has been Chairman, President and CEO of the company since it was founded in 1993, will step down, and Mr. Carlos Turner G. will take over as the new President and CEO of Katcon’s global operations. Fernando Turner D. will continue as Chairman of Katcon’s Board of Directors.
With this, the Board expects to re-energize the company’s operating discipline and growth focus while maintaining our traditional customer oriented organization and strengthening our relationships with trusted suppliers around the world.
Carlos will bring with him his focus in operating and financial efficiency, an enthusiastic and energetic personality, together with his more than 15 years of experience with the group. Over the last 8 years, Carlos has been Director of New Ventures at Katcon’s holding company, and since 2009 he was Executive VP for Europe, India and South Africa, and President of Katcon Poland. Carlos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico and an MBA from Duke University in Durham, NC.
Fernando J. Turner will continue as Executive VP for Strategic Planning and is now named President of Bienes Turgon (BT), Katcon’s holding company. His main focus will be to explore non-organic growth opportunities for both Katcon and BT as well as conducting special integration projects within Katcon that align with the business development objectives of the company. Fernando holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from ITESM and an MBA from Duke University.
Jose De Nigris will now hold the position of Executive VP for Sales, Engineering and Purchasing. Global Advanced Purchasing will now be part of Jose’s organization. We will also increase our focus and interest in Heavy Duty Diesel business, targeting on and off-road applications, in the exhaust and after treatment segments. This is consistent with our renewed focus on business development and long-term growth and financial success. Jose holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from ITESM and an MBA from Yale
University in New Haven, CT.
